Q:
I am behind a firewall or NAT. Can
I still use WuWu?
A:
Yes. WuWu is completely Firewall/NAT compatible! For additional information
on this topic, please read the WuWu
Firewall / NAT how-to.
Q:
Why do I get “Unable to connect
to (User Name)” error message?
A:
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond
after a period of time, or the established connection failed because the connected
host has failed to respond. The most likely cause of this error message is
that both you and the user you are attempting to communicate with are behind
firewalls or a NAT with no port forwarding activated. You will need to refer
to your firewall / NAT documentation for information on setting up port forwarding.
Q:
Why does it take longer to contact
some people than others?
A:
If the user you are attempting to contact is behind a firewall / NAT the system
must wait a pre-determined amount of time before attempting a connection via
an alternate means.
